    ALERA, in conjunction with State and Territory societies, is excited to share the details for the second of four National professional development lunchtime masterclasses on Unfair Dismissal. These webinars are free for all industrial relations society members.

    We invite you to join us for the second session in June, presented by Vice Present Asbury on “When is a dismissal unfair? Assessing merits”. The session will include a live Q&A, providing an opportunity for members to engage directly with the Vice President.

    Ms Ingrid Asbury is a Vice President of the Fair Work Commission and the Chairperson of the Northern Territory Police Arbitral Tribunal. Prior to her appointment as Vice President in 2023, Ms Asbury was a Deputy President of the Commission from 2013. Ms Asbury was appointed Commissioner of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission in 2000 and has been a Member of the Fair Work Commission and its predecessors since 2001. Prior to her appointment to the QIRC, Vice President Asbury was the National Industry Group Manager for the Australian Industry Group and in this role developed and implemented industrial relations strategies on major infrastructure and resource development projects throughout Australia.
